GP Registrars
We train General Medical Practitioners (often known as GP Registrars, Doctors in Training (DiT) or Resident Doctors) under the supervision of GP Trainers. Our GP Trainers are Dr Singh, Dr Fraser and Dr Wood.
GP Registrars/DiTs/Resident Doctors are Fully Qualified Doctors who are on a GP Training Programme. This is at least 3 years long and we host Doctors at all stages of their training.
We may ask video some consultations with the prior consent of the patient. This is to further the training of the GP Registrar/DiT/Resident Doctor. You will be informed prior to your appointment and again at the start of the appointment, and you can decline at any time.
We will respect you feelings at all times please inform the doctor if you feel uncomfortable with any of our teaching arrangements.
F2 Doctors
We also host F2 Doctors, who are Fully Qualified Doctors in their first 2 years of Post-Graduate Training. They have not yet started speciality training but are gaining a broad range of experience in both GP and Hospital Medicine.
Our F2 Supervisor is Dr Surgeoner.
Medical Students
The Village Green Surgery is committed to helping provide high quality training to our next generation of clinicians. Our team help to teach medical students from the University of Newcastle. We may also help teach students from different courses (such as nursing or pharmacy) and different universities. You may occasionally be asked if a student can sit in at your consultation. If you are not happy with this, for whatever reason, please say so – the student will always be happy to step out if this is your preference.
