What is the PROMMIS Study?
The Patient Reported Outcomes for Menopause Management Interventions Study (PROMMIS) is a national Study for a wide range of conditions that may be associated with the life event of menopause. The project is helping patients, health care professionals and researchers to improve their knowledge of quality of life throughout menopause.
What is the type of Research?
This Study aims to collect and analyse data of relevance to menopause. The aim is to produce a medical database containing a range of medical records that can then be analysed. This Study will be used by doctors and scientists to perform research into how different conditions are affected by menopause and how those affected feel during the time of the Study. By pooling knowledge and experiences in this way, this Study can improve our understanding of these conditions throughout menopause and as a result, improve the care of those affected.
What is the purpose of the Study?
The information that will be gathered by the Study is already routinely collected by your doctor as part of your clinical care. This data includes details of your medical history, clinical examinations and any treatments. The purpose of the Study is to understand the changes in quality of life throughout menopause. Additionally, the Study will share this information with approved users who wish to undertake research into menopause using this data. These approved users may be doctors and scientists, public health or government organisations, other registries of rare conditions, the pharmaceutical industry, and patient organisations. You can ask the study team to show you more details about the information that is stored.
